As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, CODEPINK joined the 7th Annual Walk Against Rape. Walk Against Rape is a 3.5 mile (5.6k) walk starting at The Womens Building and culminating in a rally at noon in La Raza/Potrero del Sol Park. Hundreds of walkers arrived at the park to find a festival with speakers, performances, the Clothesline Project on display, prizes for the highest fundraisers, and several community organizations. Tamara Cushway, with the able assistance of Bonnie Robertson and a crew of young women volunteers from the theatre production of "Vagina Monologues", staffed the CODEPINK table, talking up our issues, getting petition signatures, and selling t-shirts. Walk Against Rape raises awareness about sexual violence, provides a space for survivors of sexual violence to heal and celebrate their survival and raises money for San Francisco's only community based rape crisis center.
