Iran : Citizen Diplomacy
Friday, September 24th 2010 Fifteen DaysThe Citizens Diplomacy Reality Tour to Iran will give participants a chance to see inside this much-maligned nation and gain first-hand experience of the effects of the political policies of both the United States and Iran. Participants will have a chance to put a human face on this ongoing political dispute and help facilitate understanding and respect between people of different nations.
Palestine/Israel : Fair Olive Harvest
Friday, October 1st 2010 Ten DaysThe Israeli-Palestinian conflict has ensued for sixty years, while Israel's forty year occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip is the longest in modern history. Travel to Palestine and Israel, and learn how fair trade cooperatives are restoring hope and providing economic alternatives to a population under occupation. Harvest olives with Fair Trade farmers, use organic farming practices, witness the community building strengths of Fair Trade cooperatives, and cultivate a greater appreciation of Palestinian traditions, food and people.
You will also discuss integral human rights issues with Palestinian and Israeli organizations, as well as observe first-hand the effects of occupation on the Palestinian economy, tourism and life. Learn how to help change the U.S.'s negative role in the conflict, and the benefits of supporting Palestinian Fair Trade products in the U.S. Resources from the trip will support self-sufficiency and promote solidarity between internationals and Palestinian farming communities.

As the war rages on the refugee situation is worsening and requires ever-more attention. Meet with Iraqis to hear first-hand accounts of conditions on the ground; talk with them about their view of the American occupation and prospects for reconciliation in post-occupation Iraq. Learn about the political situation in both Jordan and Syria by meeting with academics, activists, business people and humanitarian relief workers. Hear their perspectives on the status of refugees and the role of the US government in their respective countries. Join Global Exchange in observing and beginning to understand the dynamics between the Iraqi refugee population and the existing Palestinian population present from the 1948 and 1967 wars.

Saturday, September 18th 2010 3:30 pmThe South Church in Mt Prospect is hosting their symbolic Peace Walk on Saturday, September 18 at 3:30pm. The walk starts at the church (501 S. Emerson St, Mt Prospect). and proceeds to downtown Mt. Prospect. All participants are invited back to The South Church for games, crafts, food, peace raffle, and live music featuring Voodoo Cadillac and friends. This event is part of U.N recognized International Day of Peace.

Wear white and bring a camera. The 3.6-mile route will pass through Arlington National Cemetery and terminate outside the White House.

Vigil: Never Again Includes Palestinians
This vigil normally is held between noon and 2 p.m., but on May 2, it will be extended to 4 p.m. Come anytime in this window and stay for 1-2 hours. Noon - 4 PMVigil in front of the Holocaust Museum, across from the "Think About What You Saw" sign. One of the most popular attractions for tourists from around the world, the Holocaust Museum represents the struggle for human rights -- and it's the ideal place to remind visitors respectfully that atrocities are going on elsewhere -- including to Palestinians, at the hands of Israelis. Bring a sign; flyers for distribution will be provided.
ADC's 30th Anniversary Convention

Grandmothers Against the War vigil at Rockefeller Center
The vigil has been ongoing since Jan. 14, 2004, every single Wednesday from 4:30 to 5:30 pm on the west side of 5th Ave. between 49 and 50 Sts. 4:30 - 5:30 p.m.This is probably the biggest and best-known regular anti-war vigil in New York City and has been going on for over 6 and a half years. We've never missed a single Wednesday no matter what the weather throws at us. At least 15-20 people participate in the vigil every week -- not just grannies but men (including a regular group of Veterans for Peace), and young people. We are a tourist attraction with many people from all over the world photographing us and engaging in conversation. Media regularly film and write about us.

Sunday Peace Vigil
Every Sunday, peace people gather on the steps of the Courthouse to petition for a redress of grievances. 6 PMStand Up! For Peace and Veterans For Peace Chapter 65 Wyoming invites all like-minded peace people to meet on the steps of the Albany County Courthouse. Once again, we petition for the redress of grievances. A display of the names of soldiers lost to the war on Iraq, both in country and after returning, will be displayed (weather permitting).
